For the past 20 years, Diana Walker has captured many of the White House's behind-the-scenes moments, enjoying extraordinary access to the nation's chief executives and documenting administrations from Jimmy Carter to Bill Clinton.

In her new book, Public and Private: Twenty Years Photographing the Presidency, Walker shares her unique experiences behind the camera, offering a rare glimpse into what private life is like inside the White House.

In 1990, Walker received a first prize award from World Press Photo for her photograph of George Bush with U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia.

Her photographs appear in the National Portrait Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Minneapolis Museum of Art.
