Fund Attempts to Close Financing Gap The
financial outlook for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis
and Malaria is the focus
of much attention in Bangkok. The fund has not raised the money
it needs to fully operate. Many are looking for the U.S. to
increase its donations, while Washington wants other countries
to give more.

Battles AIDS with Aggressive Program African
governments are closely monitoring efforts in Botswana, the
first African country to both routinely offer confidential HIV
testing and provide AIDS drugs to all who need them. Correspondent
