The Impeachment Hearings

1988: Alcee L. Hastings
Judge, U.S. District Court of Florida

Impeached for conspiring to receive a bribe, making false statements during his trial and disclosing confidential information from an FBI wiretap. Although Hastings was acquitted of conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges in his 1983 trial, the House conducted its own investigation and impeached him.

Convicted by the Senate and removed from office October 20, 1989. Currently a member of the House of Representatives
