Migrant workers in northern Mexico face the option of trying to find work locally or risk crossing the border to look for jobs in the United States. Freelance journalist David Francis reported from Mexico on the perspectives of migrant workers and border guards.

| Migrant Shelter |

| Workers stand outside the Centro de Asistencia a los Migrantes in Exodus shelter in Agua Prieta, Sonora, a small Mexican town along the Arizona border. The shelter helps migrants traveling to and from the U.S. border, about a mile away. Gabriel Clemente (middle), 34, said he is doing construction work in Agua Prieta for about $80 a week. |
