Senate Climate Bill Would Cut Emissions 20 Percent by 2020
September 30, 2009
Update

Senate Democrats unveiled a bill Wednesday aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions through a cap-and-trade system in the U.S.

The legislation calls for the U.S. to reduce its emissions by 20 percent below 2005 levels by 2020, and 83 percent below 2005 levels by 2050. But it still faces a long road in Congress.
