New York 9/11 Memorial Aims For 2011 Opening FLASH VERSION
This week, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg called for the city to complete its long-delayed Sept. 11 memorial in time for the 10th anniversary of the attacks in 2011. The design, by architect Michael Arad and landscape architect Peter Walker, was chosen from more than 5,200 entrants.

Aerial View, The site will consist of two deep pools set where the twin towers once stood. Eight acres of grounds with more than 300 trees will surround the pools, and a below-ground museum will provide space for artifacts and educational programming.
