NewsHour Extra is an unique opportunity for you to sharpen your writing and artistic skills. If you're a student, tell us what you want to do....

write an editorial or a story?
help with pictures and graphics?

We also need teachers, parents and friends to tell us what works and what doesn't. If you're a teacher who wishes to use the site in the classroom, tell us what you want to see.

The Online NewsHour, and the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, are built on viewer feedback. There are no established models for this project. We need your input to create a site that works, one that helps students expand their worldview and build a sophisticated understanding of the news.

The goal is to create an original site that explores the connections that make up the world. Every news story has a history that is often not reported; every news story is like a path, leading in all sorts of unexpected directions. With your help, we want to make NewsHour Extra an important path for all students.
