"The First and Only"
Jeff Bray
Having lived in Houston for 15 years, I have to say that I was proud to be in the home town of Barbara Jordan. Her loss is a great tragedy, especially when you consider the tremendous potential she had. She should have been Vice President or Supreme Court justice, or even President. Now her great liberal views are silenced, her powerful voice gone. I fear we may never see the likes of such great statesmanship again in our lifetime - certainly not from the political pygmies and misanthropes who currently occupy Congress! -----------------------------------------

I was watching the piece on Barbara Jordan. She lived just up the road from us and most folks here haven't met her, but in the little post office here presidents pictures have gone up and gone down, but Ms.Jordan's picture has been up since I moved out here, through Republican and Democratic administrations.

How should Barbara Jordan be remembered? As often, and as affectionately, as possible.

Thank you. For this fiftyish white male, she was always a heroine.
It was especially good to see Molly Ivins paired with Eleanor Holmes Norton. I always like to see Molly Ivins because she is both wise and funny. I noticed tonight that Eleanor Holmes Norton is a good balance for her.

My compliments on the tribute to Barbara Jordan this evening.
Also, I think the program a few weeks ago which included the Arleigh Burke tribute by Admiral Boorda was the best program (in its entirety) since your new format began.
Keep up the good work. I've been watching since 1970-something...
