Simon Johnson on Consumer Protection

Editor’s note: Today’s segment in our continuing series of video conversations with economist Simon Johnson, author of the popular Baseline Scenario blog, focuses on the Obama administration’s plan to reform consumer protections for financial products.

At one point, Simon and Paul reference the debate between Richard Posner and Richard Thaler over the merits of the administration’s plan. You can read Posner’s critique of the plan (and of Thaler) in a Wall Street Journal column last month. Thaler then responded to Posner’s critique here on the Business Desk.
