Newscast Averages

These charts show the distribution of time on the 24-hour cable news networks’ primetime newscasts (interview-format programs not included). These data are based on analysis of four days of programming (Jan. 21, 2002 – Jan. 24, 2002). Commercials, in-house promotions and other non-editorial content are excluded.

CNN data is based on two hours of newscasts per night: "NewsNight", "Live from..." and "War Room". MSNBC data is based on two hours of newscasts per night: "The News" and "A Region in Conflict". FNC data is based on three hours of newscasts per night: "Special Report", "Fox Report" and "War on Terror".
