Mr. Green Genes

Mr. Green Genes is a glow-in-the-dark ginger tom cat. Scientists modified the cat's DNA with a protein that would glow under ultraviolet light. The cat's glowing eyes, nose, tongue and ears allowed scientists to trace where the gene "went" on the animal.

Ultimately, scientists hope that this kind of tracking will help them locate the "knockout" gene for diseases like cystic fibrosis.
