Nadia Stewart says, "Having diabetes forced me to make lifestyle changes -- what I eat, how active I am, managing stress. However, the threat of the extreme downfalls weighs on my mind. Amputation, slow healing wounds, blindness -- these are all things that can happen if you don't manage the disease."


Nov. 14 is World Diabetes Day.

To recognize it, the American Diabetes Association has launched the "A Day in the Life of Diabetes" initiative to show the growing impact diabetes has on American families highlight how diabetics live with disease live with it every day.
