Mass Flooding

The storm was the costliest natural disaster in Texas history. Seventy-five percent of all homes in Galveston were either destroyed or damaged by a combination of mass flooding and crippling 110-mph winds. Ike pushed at least 10 feet of water into many parts of the city's historic downtown.
