Inspired by Jack Kerouac's "On the Road," the folk songs of Bob Dylan and his folklore professor at the University of California, Berkeley, Steve Fitch set out after college to photograph America from the road side.
When he was a child, his family took trips from Northern California to South Dakota to see extended family. Those trips shaped his approach to his photography.
"I became aware of the perspective of the kid. Everything was exciting and changing," Fitch said.
