With its reactive table, PingPongPlus takes the old paddle game to a new level of interactivity. "It projects different visualizations that react to where the ball hits," research assistant Xiao Xiao told us.
When we visited the lab, fish were projected on the table. "When I hit the table, it creates ripples and the fish move towards the ripples," Xiao explained. The point, according to the project's site, is to digitally enhance athletic recreation.
