About the size of a credit card and worn like a necklace, the sociometric badge monitors just how social you are.

"If I realize that I haven't been participating enough, it gives me an incentive to participate more," Daniel Olguin-Olguin, research assistant in the Human Dynamics Group, told us. "This is a very important feedback for people who are working on brainstorming tasks where everyone has to participate."

Alex 'Sandy' Pentland, Director of the Human Dynamics Lab, added, "groups perform 20 percent, 30 percent, 40 percent better by giving them this sort of feedback."
