Meière was commissioned to design mosaics for what became the largest synagogue in the world at the time of its completion in 1929. She incorporated Jewish symbols into a geometric design along the arch. The Tree of Life, Prayer Shawl, Star of David, and Wedding Canopy are some of the eleven images.
