Along with Buffalo Hunt, War Party, and Women Hoeing Corn, The Peace Council is one of four scenes of Plains Native American life depicted on the dome of the Senate chamber in Nebraska's State Capitol. Meière worked from prints of Siouan beadwork and paintings to ensure accuracy.
