This is the end result of tart cherries that most people know and love. The Grand Traverse Pie Company makes over 750 pies by hand each day during the height of the summer fruit season. In order to maintain their commitment to using all Michigan fruit, the company bought up much of the fruit crop that survived from a local grower and raised the price of their pies by $2.
