In 2002, Michigan had also experienced a record low crop in its documented fruit history. Most lifelong farmers like Jim Nugent thought that was a once in a lifetime event. This season topped that record, leaving farmers joking that they've now lived two lifetimes -- and worrying that the risk of such seasons will become more frequent.
