Remembering a Year of Wild Weather
Drought Dries Up Texas
Shored up boat docks were a common sight this year all along the Highland Lakes around Austin. The ongoing drought in the United States is the second largest in the country's history, surpassed only by the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. In Texas, the drought cost tens of billions of dollars alone as farmers and ranchers lost crops and were forced to sell livestock at a loss.
