Superstorm Sandy Hits New York
Storm surf kicked up by the high winds from Superstorm Sandy break onto homes in Southampton, New York on October 29.The monster storm wreaked havoc across the United States just before Halloween, dumping two feet of snow in the Appalachian Mountains, washing away homes in New York and New Jersey. The storm caused the stock market to suffer its first weather-related closure in 27 years. The high winds from the storm cell were felt as far west as the Great Lakes and Canada.
