Hard Nut -- Mark Morris

The first act of "The Hard Nut," created in 1991 by modern dance icon Mark Morris, begins with the raunchy frivolity of a dizzying1960s Christmas party at which Morris himself once danced the role of a drunken party guest. The sets and costumes, designed by American graphic artist Charles Burns, turned "the ballet into a graphic novel, before the graphic novel craze," said dancer writer and critic Nancy Dalva.
