Hard Nut -- Mark Morris

Unlike most Nutcrackers, Dalva pointed out the Mark Morris Dance Group's "The Hard Nut" was not created for children and, in fact, no children perform in the production. "It is not comfy, not cozy. It is scary," she said. "I have to cover my eyes when those horrible robotic rats come on, they fill me with revulsion. And the moment when the 'Barbie' life-size doll gets her arm ripped off is shocking."
