While set in Russia, McFall's version of the Nutcracker has one distinct tie to the Atlanta area. The "Dancing Pig and Chef" pas de deux in the first act's party scene was inspired by the Macy's Pink Pig train ride at Lenox Mall, an annual holiday tradition in the city.
