Ronald Reagan

When Reagan turned 50 on Feb. 6, 1961, he was still six years from becoming the governor of California and 19 years from becoming the nation's 40th and oldest elected president at age 69. At age 50, he was still a Democrat -- he switched to the Republican Party the following year. He also was host of the General Electric-sponsored television anthology series, which featured different stories and characters each Sunday night.
