Toksook's Clinic
Breana Moses, age 2, peaks out from the Toksook Bay Subregional Clinic door. She's been seeing the dental therapist here since her baby teeth came in, and so far they're all healthy. Dental decay is prominent in rural Alaska, where soda is often cheaper than clean water. This clinic serves six nearby villages, and patients with conditions that can't be treated here are sent to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Regional Hospital in Bethel.
