Drying grass for next season

Bundles of grass hang out to dry in preparation for braiding next summer's halibut catch. Throughout the year, residents gather what's in season to help get them through the next. Yup'ik elders frequently tell stories about the traditional way of life to teach younger generations survival skills and about their heritage.
