A Model for the Future
In the 1960s, Communist leader Ho Chi Minh told Vietnamese farmers to make their own fish ponds, using agricultural waste to feed their new fish and in turn feed their families. Since then, industrial-scale fish farms like this model have outgrown the small rural fish ponds. They now dominate Vietnam's export -oriented aquaculture industry.
