Why some Apple users remain loyal to 1st gen iPhones
Even as Apple unveils the latest iteration of their popular smartphone, there are some Steve Jobs loyalists who have yet to part with the original iPhone released June 29, 2007.
When that first iPhone came out, the late Steve Jobs called it "the most beautiful thing we have ever made."
Why keep using the oldest model? Users say some apps only work on the older phones and are no longer available in the Apple store and that the 2007 phones are a "little piece of history."
Apple is attempting to entice iPhone users to continuously upgrade, but the marketing pushes are waning. A survey by BiTE interactive released Monday shows 65 percent of Americans have no interest in the new iPhone 5S and 59 percent of current iPhone users have no intention of upgrading to the new model.
