Capitol Christmas tree makes its D.C. debut

The 2013 Capitol Christmas Tree arrived Monday in Washington, D.C. after a coast-to-coast journey from Washington state. The 88-foot-tall Engelmann spruce was cut from the Colville National Forest before its long journey to Capitol Hill. Once in place on the Capitol’s west lawn, the tree will be decorated with more than 5,000 homemade ornaments. A tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 3.
