Clips of the Eclipse From Around the World

Skygazers across the Eastern Hemisphere watched as a partial solar eclipse darkened the
sky Tuesday morning and changed the sun’s shape into that of a crescent moon.

Since much of the world didn’t get a chance to witness it in person, The Rundown collected footage — from Tehran, Iran, to Dresden, Germany — to allow readers to gaze directly at the eclipse from the safety of their computer screens, phones, iPads and such.

A partial solar eclipse occurs when the moon moves between the earth and the sun,
making the sun appear as a crescent. When all three align, you’ll see a total eclipse, as
the sun is completely blocked from view.
