Concerned About iPhone 4 ‘Death Grip?’ Jobs: Have a Free Bumper

Responding to weeks of complaints about reception issues with Apple’s popular iPhone 4, CEO Steve Jobs mounted a defense at a Friday news conference, announcing that customers will be able to get a free rubber case to alleviate the problem or return the phone.

In perhaps our most “meta” interview to date, we used the iPhone 4′s FaceTime app to speak with CNET’s Kent German, senior editor for cell phones, about the substance of Jobs’ speech and what it means for the 3 million iPhone 4 users (so far) and Apple’s clout in the industry.
