Senator-elect Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, N.J., will begin marrying same-sex couples at 12:01 a.m. Monday, BuzzFeed reports. Booker plans to conduct the ceremonies in the rotunda of Newark’s city hall, with at least 10 couples already expected to attend. The move comes just weeks after Judge Mary Jacobson’s decision to allow same-sex marriage in the state.
PBS NewsHour interviewed Booker on Thursday about his election to the Senate.
