House prepares to head in for Saturday votes

With the pressure still firmly up against Speaker John Boehner, House lawmakers opted to adjourn for the day and return Saturday at 10 a.m. EDT to address a spending bill expected to pass the Senate Friday afternoon. Republicans have given scant indication of which direction they’ll go as the nation wonders if the government will open for business Tuesday after the current spending measure expires.

At least members have something to do while stuck in Washington on a Friday night that was initially scheduled to be a recess day instead of a work day. As Huffington Post reports, Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy of California has invited his fellow Republicans to join him at the movies.
