WATCH: How One STEM School Aims to Lower the Achievement Gap

On Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET, NewsHour is hosting a live chat on how STEM education can close the achievement gap.

We’ll be examining the unmet demand for more STEM-skilled workers in the U.S. economy, and how that disconnect breaks down for minority and low-income students.

We’ll be joined by:

  • David Pinder, Prinicpal of McKinley Technology High School in Washington, D.C.

  • Linda Rosen, CEO of Change the Equation, a non-profit organization advocating for STEM initiatives across the country

  • Jonathan Rothwell, senior research associate and associate fellow at Brookings Institute Metropolitan Program. His research focuses on urban economics and employment opportunities.
