Making Sen$e: How Much Did President Obama Make in 2010?

Editor’s Note: The First Family’s 2010 tax return was released today. We’ve pulled out some of the more interesting numbers in a graphic.

Making Sense

Here’s the snapshot: the Obamas reported an adjusted gross income of $1,728,096, about $3.78 million less than the year before (thanks to lower earnings related to book sales). They paid $506,297 in federal, state and local taxes. And they donated a little over $245,000 to charity- about 14 percent of their income. We’ve listed the largest charitable gifts in our graphic, but for a complete list see Statement 7 in the link above.
