We’re kicking off a new series of conversations called “NewsHour Plus” here on the Rundown that will explore how science and technology intersect with our daily lives.

With the April 3 release date for Apple’s iPad inching closer, we sat down with Matt Buchanan from the tech and gadget site [Gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/) to discuss the buzz over the highly anticipated device. We also spoke about the legal battle between Apple and phone-maker HTC, and the behind-the-scenes effort to expand data storage on the Web – In the tech world, the effort is called ["the cloud"](http://gizmodo.com/5495174/this-is-the-cloud-inside-microsofts-secret-stealth-data-centers) because “who knows where your stuff’s being stored,” Buchanan told us. But, he says, “if you look inside it looks more like the Matrix than anything puffy and white.”
