Pakistan Floods: How to Help
Amid new headlines on the continued need for humanitarian aid in Pakistan as the country grapples with deadly floods, we’ve received a few questions on how to help. So we’ve put together a list of some of the organizations involved in the response effort.
Updated Aug. 20: On Thursday’s NewsHour, Richard Holbrooke, the U.S. special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, said Americans who want to contribute to the relief effort can text SWAT to the number 50555 and send $10 to the U.N. refugee commission.
And InterAction has their own list of groups working to respond.
We’ll continue to cover the Pakistan story on Wednesday’s NewsHour and here on the Rundown. Stay tuned.
The PBS NewsHour does not certify the fund allocations of the charities listed here or intend this list as an endorsement of their work. This is intended as a tool to help those interested in contributing to relief efforts start their research.
