Public opinion about online dating is on the rise
In a national survey of dating and relationships, Pew found that one in 10 Internet users–which is only nine percent of all American adults–have used an online dating site. That number is up from the three percent reported in 2008.
Among those online daters, 66 percent have gone on a date with someone they met through a dating website or app, and 23 percent have met long-term partners or spouses
Online dating is especially popular with the college-educated in their 20s through 40s.
