Politico: Obama’s Post-Reform Poll Bump Appears Fleeting
Now that President Obama has shepherded historic health care reform legislation into law, will that translate into a higher approval rating? Politico reporter Josh Gerstein spoke with us about what the health care victory may or may not do for President Obama’s popularity.
As he reported Tuesday, Gernstein told us that it will take a lot more than one good week of news to improve how Americans view the president’s job performance and that the White House may wrestle with how much to tout the benefits of the health reform plan while turning the focus back to the economy.
“If the president did get some bump right after it [health reform] passed, it seems like that has eroded in most of the polls,” Gerstein told us.
