Politico’s Allen: Democrats Worried by Senate Retirements, Possible Defectors

 

Mike Allen, chief White House correspondent for Politico, spoke with us Tuesday afternoon about the political uncertainty caused by the latest Democratic Senate retirement announcement – Indiana’s Evan Bayh.

Allen said that as anger toward Washington grows, both Democrats and Republicans in Congress face risky re-election prospects. Democrats, in particular, could even lose their 59-vote majority in the Senate, and face the prospect of an emboldened GOP confronting President Obama’s agenda.
