President Obama addresses tribal leaders at Washington conference

WASHINGTON — American Indian leaders from 566 federally recognized tribes joined President Barack Obama and other Cabinet members Wednesday for the Tribal Nations Conference at the White House.

The conference provided an opportunity to discuss Native American affairs, including mascots, violent crime, sacred sites and education, the Associated Press reports.
