Obama Details Infrastructure Plan, Slams GOP as ‘Party of No’
President Obama announced his latest effort to kick-start the economy and create jobs on Monday: a $50 billion infrastructure proposal that would improve the nation’s roads, railways and airport runways.
The president announced the plan at a town-hall style rally in Milwaukee:
House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio blasted the plan [in a statement](http://gopleader.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=205180), saying “we don’t need more government ‘stimulus’ spending”:
“If we’ve learned anything from the past 18 months, it’s that we can’t spend our way to prosperity. We don’t need more government ‘stimulus’ spending – we need to end Washington Democrats’ out-of-control spending spree, stop their tax hikes, and create jobs by eliminating the job-killing uncertainty that is hampering our small businesses.”
President Obama hit back during his Monday remarks, chastising the GOP as the “party of no.”
