As members of Syria’s opposition met in Doha, Qatar, on Friday, thousands of Syrians were ducking under barbed wire and braving tank patrols to seek refuge in neighboring Turkey.

The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees reported Friday that an estimated 11,000 refugees had fled Syria in the last 24 hours, mostly to Turkey.

Reuters captured these images of Syrians leaving the town of Ras al-Ain and entering the Turkish border town of Ceylanpinar in Sanliurfa province.
