Questions About Health Insurance Exchanges? Ask Secretary Sebelius

BY Jason Kane  August 2, 2011 at 5:55 PM EDT

On Tuesday’s PBS NewsHour broadcast, we heard from health correspondent Betty Ann Bowser about Utah’s health insurance exchange. Online, we posed our own questions to Julie Appleby of Kaiser Health News.

But now is your chance to ask the woman charged with orchestrating much of health care reform — Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius — your questions on how the exchanges could have an impact on your life.

Will these new marketplaces lower health care costs? Exactly when will you be able to check them out in person? What will happen if your state refuses to participate or misses the Jan. 1, 2014, deadline? And will the grand plan to implement the exchanges stumble now that the man overseeing their creation announced he’s stepping down?

We’re sure you have more questions, so please post them in the comments section below, tweet them to @NewsHourHealth with the hashtag #AskSebelius or send them to onlinehealth (at) newshour.org. And check back here on The Rundown in the coming days for the secretary’s answers.
