Election results and KET political analysis in Kentucky Senate primary

Of the six states holding primaries today, perhaps none will be more closely watched than Kentucky, where Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell faces a challenge from tea party-backed Matt Bevin. Although polls show McConnell with a comfortable lead in the primary, the Kentucky Senate race in November is likely to be one of the most hotly contested, when McConnell is expected to face Democratic opponent Alison Lundergan Grimes, Kentucky’s current secretary of state.
