W.Va. water contamination crisis enters third day
300,000 West Virginians entered their third day without tap water Saturday, following an accident Thursday where the chemical 4-Methylcyclohexane Methanol leaked from a storage tank into West Virginia American Water’s water supply.
Residents in nine counties were advised not to drink, bathe in, wash dishes or clothing with their tap water.
Allison Adler of the Department of Health and Human Resources said authorities were still assessing the safety level of the water.
Former PM Ariel Sharon dies
After eight years in a coma, former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has died. He was 85.
Sharon’s son Gilad announced the death on Saturday afternoon outside the hospital near Tel Aviv where his father had been treated in recent years.
“He has gone. He went when he decided to go,” he said.
