Suicide bomber attacks cafe in Somalia

A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden jacket this morning in a cafe in Baladweyne — a Somali town close to the Ethiopian border. Al Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the bombing, saying the attack was intended to harm foreign troops. The death toll stands at 16, but may rise.

Viral vandals may face charges

A group of Utah Boy Scout leaders may face charges for toppling an ancient rock formation. The group gained internet notoriety after posting a YouYube video showing one man breaking the rock in Goblin Valley State Park. The county attorney’s office says there is an ongoing investigation.

Violin from Titanic sold for record price

A violin played by the band leader of the Titanic as the ship sank was sold today to a British buyer for 900,000 pounds ($1,454,400). The sale broke the record for the highest price paid for an item related to the Titanic. A 32 foot plan of the boat used in the investigation of the disaster sold for $340,000 two years ago.
