- President Barack Obama will meet with the executives of tech companies — including Google, Apple, Twitter and Facebook — to discuss ways to improve the functionality of HealthCare.gov.
- Japan’s Cabinet adopted a new plan that increases national defense spending in response to China’s repeated assertive claims over disputed territory in the region.
- Secretary of State John Kerry, in Manila for a two-day visit, warned China over any future attempt to create an air defense zone over disputed territories in the South China Sea. The U.S. and the Philippines are in the process of negotiating a deal that would allow U.S. ships and troops to pass through Philippine territory.
